VIDEO OF OUR GARDEN FOR HOME DOG BOARDING
This video has been made to show you around our garden, which we use for home dog boarding for holidays, plus a small doggy day care while you are at work (maximum of 4 small/medium dogs per day).
There are various levels, as in a lot of gardens in the High Wycombe area, but it is fun for the dogs running up and down the steps and onto the green area at the top chasing a ball for instance. The garden is around 60ft total length. Of course we have to be aware of any older dogs with hip problems, so no running up and down the steps for them, but the top couple of grassy areas are nice, with a patio stone recently installed so they can easily get from one grassy bed to the next without running through bushes! We often play hide and seek and chase games on those two grassy areas.
The pups can also do their business on the grass if necessary, which we clear up straight away. Of course they get at least a couple of 20 minute minimum walks a day (weather dependent) or games in the garden with treats, paddling pool in the summer etc., if only possible to do an early walk in the woods for instance. We are lucky that we have a grassy area out the front of our house as well, as we are in a service road, so they can be taken out there for toileting if necessary and are within walking distance of beautiful fields.
We would always be outside with the dogs anyway and, if the smaller or younger dogs are playing on the decked area below, we would watch them from the french doors of the dining room or join them outside on the decking. They can't get up to the rest of the garden, since we installed the green wire fencing expandable barrier which we lock to a hook on the wall, to block the steps off. Of course we can take them up on the grass via a lead and keep an eye if they small puppies want to go up there.
